Barack Obama
Student Empowerment
Syracuse, NY 2013
Photographing Obama's education-focused speech granted me exclusive access, enabling meaningful conversations with media professionals from major networks like ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, etc. This extraordinary experience deepened my passion for photography and media production. As the sole student invited to capture the event, I navigated press-only areas, fostering connections and gaining insights. This pivotal moment solidified my resolve to turn my dream into reality. The journey below highlights how I transformed aspirations into tangible achievements through dedication and hard work.

Eurain? That's a Unique Name!

Thank You! It’s actually pronounced “you’re-on”
In a twist of fate, my journey from a potential computer scientist to an artist began when circumstances shifted my educational path. As I approached the end of my junior year, missing a half credit in art threatened to delay my graduation. Presented with the option of academic art or multimedia, I opted for the latter. Unbeknownst to me, this choice would change the course of my life. With dedication and enthusiasm, I excelled in multimedia, discovering a talent and passion I never knew existed.
Wrapping up the summer course with outstanding markings, I was offered the opportunity to photograph Barack Obama during his visit to a Syracuse high school. This event truly solidified my love for capturing moments through the lens. Encouraged by my success, I was invited to join the advanced multimedia course in my senior year, where I further honed my skills. As the official photographer for the school's football team during a season of consecutive victories, I realized the power of storytelling through imagery.
Upon graduating from high school, I was approached by the Syracuse Media Group with a contract offer, marking the beginning of my professional career in photo and film. However, my journey hasn't always been smooth sailing.
Despite my early success, I faced challenges and doubts from those around me. Struggling to obtain my basic needs while pursuing my passion, I juggled multiple jobs, from food service to retail, until landing a supervisory position in asbestos abatement and demolition.
Yet, amidst the uncertainty and pressures, my passion for storytelling never wavered. From capturing elements of notable figures to collaborating with local influencers and politicians, my work spans a wide spectrum of subjects and purposes.
While the glamour of celebrity encounters is exciting, my true interest lies in amplifying the stories of everyday people. Having experienced both abundance and scarcity in my own life, I understand the importance of representation and empathy in storytelling. My long-term goal is to create solutions for underserved communities, using my platforms to advocate for change.
Everyone has a story to tell, I’m here to help you share yours. Together, let's work towards building a more inclusive and compassionate world, one photograph and video at a time. Feel free to reach out and discuss how we can collaborate and make a difference together.
